Father Charged in Death of His Three-Month-Old Daughter

Baltimore County Police say Derran Patrick Claggett of Noyes Circle (Pictured above) has been charged with first-degree child abuse and second-degree murder. He is being held on $500,000 bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
On September 20th around 12:30am, police were called to Northwest Hospital after the three-month-old was brought into the facility not breathing. Detectives later learned the chicl was suffering from trauma to the head and chest. The baby was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital where she passed away three days later.
Police say an autopsy on the child confirmed the multiple injuries and that this was a homicide.
Investigators determined that Claggett was responsible for her injuries.
This incident remains under investigation by BCoPD Homicide.
