12 Vehicles Damaged When Cable Falls From Bridge Overpass

8:30AM Update: Maryland State Police have advised that I-695 has been reopened.
Press Release from the Maryland State Police concerning last night's incident on I-695 @ York Rd.
"On 10/01/16 Troopers from the Golden Ring Barrack responded to reports of wires down on I 695 at York Rd Towson, Baltimore Co. MD, with multiple vehicles colliding into the cables. Upon arrival it was determined that two suspension towers that were along York had fallen dropping ten or more large gage Verizon interstate fiber optic communion cables along with the heavy tension cables and supports. At this time twelve vehicles had had collided into the debris. No injuries were reported. MD State Highway Administration has set up a temporary detour. Verizon estimates the road will be reopened by 5:00am."
